His family paid GH¢19,500, but he was still held hostage – Police on abduction of 30-year-old man

The family of Bismark Amoh, a 30-year-old man, reported his disappearance to the police on September 6th after he failed to return home. Subsequently, they began receiving videos from his phone number, confirming his kidnapping. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of GH¢44,000, stating that Bismark had defrauded them of that amount.

Unfortunately, the family lacked the funds and had to seek assistance. They managed to raise GH¢19,500, which they sent to the kidnappers, but the captors rejected the partial payment and insisted on the full amount. Despite the family's efforts, the kidnappers refused to release Bismark until the complete ransom was paid. The Central North Police Commander, DCOP Abraham Acquaye, disclosed these details during an interview on Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem.

DCOP Acquaye emphasized that although a crime had been committed, the alleged kidnappers should have reported the incident to the authorities instead of holding and torturing Bismark. Four individuals have been arrested and are being held in connection with the incident.
