‘Harry Potter’ HBO Series Casts Its Arthur Weasley, Moaning Myrtle, Colin Creevey

HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series has secured its cast for key roles including Arthur Weasley, Moaning Myrtle, and Colin Creevey. Rafe Spall will take on the role of Arthur Weasley, Ron's father, known for his work in various films and series such as Life of Pi, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Black Mirror. Mark Williams previously portrayed Arthur Weasley in the original Harry Potter movies.

Arthur is depicted as the good-natured patriarch of the Weasley family, who aids Harry and Ron in obtaining the enchanted Ford Anglia, and later serves as a crucial figure in the Ministry of Magic. The series will also introduce Moaning Myrtle, portrayed by Molly Hewitt-Richards, and Colin Creevey, played by Jasper Ambrose. Both characters will have small roles throughout the series, making their first appearances in "Chamber of Secrets" as victims of a mysterious creature in Hogwarts castle.

Other key roles for the second season include Tom Riddle (Lord Voldemort), Dobby the house-elf, and a new face for Ginny Weasley. Kit Harington is set to play Gilderoy Lockhart, replacing Tom Hoult who had to drop out due to a filming delay. The series is scheduled to air its first season at Christmas, with the second season set to follow in late 2027 or 2028.
