General : Four Missing Anglers Found Safe, Search For Three Others Expanded

SHAH ALAM, Sept 15 - Four of the seven missing anglers were found safe off Sekinchan, Malaysia, by a local fishing vessel about 9.50 am today, according to Selangor Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) director Abdul Muhaimin Muhammad Salleh. The four men were discovered floating together and were in a weakened state. They are currently receiving medical attention at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang and Banting Hospital in Kuala Langat.

The reason behind the incident remains under investigation. Muhaimin explained that hazy weather conditions reduced visibility, making the search and rescue operation slightly more challenging.

The search and rescue operation is still ongoing to locate the remaining three victims. Muhaimin further stated that the search area has been expanded to 203.5 square nautical miles for maritime operations, while aerial search covers 764 square nautical miles. On the second day of the SAR operation, MMEA's sea and air assets, along with assets from the Royal Malaysia Police, Fire and Rescue Department, Civil Defence Force, and two local fishing boats, participated in the search efforts.
