Geely to Launch 3 SUVs in Pakistan

Bestway Automotive Private Limited (BAL) is set to introduce three Geely SUVs to the Pakistani market, including two electric vehicles and one hybrid model. Muhammad Irfan Anwar Sheikh, Group Managing Director of Bestway Group’s non-banking businesses in Pakistan, announced the upcoming lineup during a media interaction in Lahore on September 15, 2023, prior to Geely’s formal market entry.

As the official representative and authorized distributor of Geely Auto in Pakistan, BAL will initially sell the vehicles as Completely Built Units (CBUs). The media event, which convened media representatives to discuss the partnership, Geely’s global standing, its safety and technology prowess, and Bestway Automotive’s plans for Pakistan, did not disclose the names, specifications, or prices of the three SUVs.

Geely’s initial Pakistan lineup will concentrate solely on new-energy SUVs, with two of the three models slated to be fully electric and the third featuring a hybrid powertrain. Specific details regarding the individual electric and hybrid models, their pricing, and exact launch dates are anticipated as the official market launch approaches.

Group Managing Director Sheikh emphasized that the partnership signifies a long-term commitment from Bestway Group, which has built a significant footprint in Pakistan across various industries such as cement, banking, insurance, packaging, renewable technology, and consultancy over decades. He stated that Bestway Group's decades-long investment and experience in Pakistan, combined with Geely’s technological expertise and global capabilities, strengthen their confidence in a sustained, long-term presence in the country.
