From toy bears to formulas: Making math tangible for Indonesian children

Indonesian police are investigating the suspicious deaths of an Australian man and his two young children in Bali, reportedly suspected to be a murder-suicide. The victims, aged 57, seven and four, were found dead in a bungalow in Kuta on Sunday morning. According to Denpasar Police, a 51-year-old witness, Nur Khamid, received a phone call from the victim's wife, claiming to be in Jakarta, asking Khamid to check on her husband and family.

Upon arriving at the bungalow, Khamid found no signs of life inside and reported this to the local authorities. Police subsequently stormed the property, discovering the three bodies. The children were believed to have died from violence, while the father was found dead by hanging. The bodies are currently at a hospital for further examination.

Denpasar Police Chief, senior commissioner Leonardo D Simatupang, stated that investigators are still probing the incident, including reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses, including the victim's wife. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed they were offering consular assistance to the Australian family during this difficult time.
