‘Freeze your eggs’ – Sista Afia advises women in their 30s to plan for the future

Ghanaian musician Sista Afia has counseled women in their early 30s to take charge of their reproductive health and future plans. In a message directed at her followers, the singer urged women not to let shifting societal norms make them feel embarrassed about seeking genuine love, marriage, and a fulfilling life. "My advice to every girl in her early 30s: be intentional with your womb and be intentional with your future," she stated.

Sista Afia emphasized the importance of maintaining strong values, especially when it comes to relationships and the kind of family one desires. "There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of in having good morals, being raised with love. Don’t let this generation make you feel foolish for wanting something genuine," she added.

For women who can afford it, Sista Afia suggested egg freezing as a viable option. This medical procedure allows women to preserve their eggs at a younger age, providing them with more time and flexibility to make decisions about relationships and starting a family. "And if you’re in a position to, consider freezing your eggs. Give yourself the gift of time and options while you figure out life, love, and the kind of family you want," she advised.

Sista Afia made it clear that protecting one's future reproductive options should not be considered shameful. "There is no shame in protecting your future. Freeze your eggs," she reiterated.
