Former Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata has praised Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal, stating that the teenager has what it takes to win this year's Ballon d’Or. In an interview with COPE, Morata highlighted Yamal’s work habits and preparation that often go unnoticed. The former Real Madrid striker believes Yamal is much smarter and harder-working than many people appreciate.
Morata also confirmed that he considers Yamal the best player in the world, citing his dominance in European football at the tender age of 16. While Barcelona is actively campaigning for Yamal to win the prestigious individual award, the young player has strong competition including Kylian Mbappe. If Yamal were to win the Ballon d’Or this year, he would become the youngest recipient of the award and the first teenager to claim it.
