Etihad and Etihad Rail plan integrated flight and train bookings across UAE

Etihad Airways and Etihad Rail have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding at the Arabian Travel Market to examine the possibility of integrated air-rail travel across the United Arab Emirates. The agreement focuses on studying shuttle services connecting Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport with a railway station, as well as integrating air and rail booking options and passenger services at railway stations.

The aim is to facilitate travel for international visitors arriving in Abu Dhabi, enhance tourism, and promote economic diversification in the UAE. Arik De, Etihad Airways' chief revenue and commercial officer, expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership. Etihad Rail, which launched passenger services recently, has expanded its role in connecting cities and regions across the UAE.

According to Azza Al Suwaidi, Etihad Rail's Chief Operating Officer, the partnership will further integrate rail and aviation into the UAE's transport network. However, no specific launch date for the proposed services has been announced yet.
