ENGINE: East of Suez Fuel Availability Outlook

Singapore and Malaysia continue to experience tight bunker availability, despite minimal demand. Bunker suppliers are carrying minimal stock levels, and cargo arrivals have further tightened availability, according to a Singapore-based source. Bunker supplies in Port Klang, Malaysia, remain constrained, with VLSFO particularly tight.

In East Asia, Zhoushan continues to face tight bunker availability, with VLSFO, LSMGO and HSFO deliveries quoted around 10 days. Weather disruptions have led to suspensions and backlogs, with operations only resuming recently. Other Chinese ports have mixed supply availability, with Dalian and Qingdao having adequate VLSFO and LSMGO stocks, but HSFO remaining tight in Qingdao.

Tianjin and Shanghai are facing shortages across all three grades, while Hong Kong's bunker market remains unchanged. Taiwan's lead times for VLSFO and LSMGO remain around two days, while Korea's demand has strengthened, pushing fuel prices higher. In Japan, bunker availability is particularly constrained, with September's cargo loadings severely restricted.

Indonesia continues to enjoy healthy bunker fuel availability, with suppliers in major ports recommending lead times of just 2-3 days for VLSFO. Oceania's supply conditions are stable, with VLSFO readily available in Western Australia. In Australia, Melbourne and Brisbane have tightened HSFO availability, while Brisbane has ample VLSFO and LSMGO supplies.
