Emirates passengers can book flights using Jaywan cards

Starting Wednesday, travelers on Emirates planes will be able to purchase tickets using Jaywan cards. As part of a limited-time promotion, the card provides discounted fares for one-way and return flights from Dubai, available for bookings from that date until August 31, 2027, for trips ending on or before February 29, 2028. Emirates accepts all Jaywan cards, enhancing the airline's payment options.

Jaywan is the UAE's inaugural national domestic card program, designed to promote financial inclusion and cut down on payment expenses. Al Etihad Payments, a division of the UAE Central Bank, manages the system. This new payment method will expand the ways Emirates passengers can settle their travel costs. Currently, UAE customers can secure special fares at Emirates outlets, with online booking slated to follow soon.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates' deputy president and chief commercial officer, remarked, "Jaywan is now a locally produced alternative, offering additional selection and ease when purchasing tickets. It also allows more UAE residents who use Jaywan cards to book with Emirates as effortlessly as any other payment." Dr Tariq Al Hawi, chief operating officer at Al Etihad Payments, added, "The acceptance of Jaywan cards on emirates.com and Emirates' retail stores gives Jaywan cardholders more options, flexibility, and convenience."

This collaboration between Emirates and Al Etihad Payments also bolsters the UAE's developing financial framework for the future. In October 2025, the airline signed an agreement with Dubai Finance to promote the Dubai Cashless Strategy among overseas visitors. In July, Emirates launched Crypto.com Pay, granting eligible UAE residents another payment method on the Emirates website and app.

Jaywan was crafted to manage domestic transactions securely and effectively. Numerous banks across the UAE issue Jaywan cards, and an expanding selection of merchants, encompassing those in ride-hailing, car rentals, restaurants, attractions, healthcare, pharmacies, and retail, accept them.
