Emilia AI raises $1.5M pre-seed round led by Prosus

Emilia AI has successfully raised a $1.5 million pre-seed funding round, spearheaded by investment firm Prosus. The Brazilian-based startup, established in 2024 by Colombian entrepreneurs Andrés Cajiao and Sebastian Rojo, specializes in AI-driven restaurant operations analysis. By leveraging existing security cameras, Emilia AI's platform amalgamates video footage and point-of-sale data to detect sales opportunities, fraudulent activities, and operational inefficiencies in real-time.

The recently acquired capital will be primarily utilized to further develop Emilia AI's platform and to broaden its presence in Brazil, the company's primary market. Upon successful expansion within Brazil, the startup intends to venture into other Latin American nations.

To validate its technology, Emilia AI conducted pilot tests with Alife Nino, a Brazilian restaurant chain operating over 100 outlets. The trial reportedly generated an additional $300 in monthly revenue per table, with a cost of merely $10 per table. Similarly, Emilia AI collaborated with Jin Jin, which plans to scale the platform across more than 77 locations.
