The Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Doha and ICEX Spain Trade & Investment are bringing back the "Eat Spain, Drink Spain" campaign to Qatar, running from September 20 to October 4. This marks the second year of the promotion's presence in the region. Following its successful debut, the campaign aims to introduce Spanish cuisine to a wider audience in Qatar, where nearly 80% of the population is of foreign origin.

Spain's ambassador to Qatar, Dr Alvaro Renedo Zalba, highlighted the importance of Spanish gastronomy, stating that it embodies the country's rich cultural heritage and modern innovation. The campaign features a diverse range of venues, including hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, and specialty food shops, offering various adaptations of Spanish dishes such as paella, tortilla espanola, gambas al ajillo, and croquetas.

Attendees can also expect to taste Manchego cheese and Padron peppers. Interactive events, including tastings and cooking demonstrations, will enable visitors and local residents to engage with Spanish chefs and explore traditional and contemporary culinary offerings. Participating venues across Doha consist of establishments like Curiosa, Stoke & Stoker, La Pergola, and IKA, while supermarkets like Carrefour and LuLu Hypermarket will stock Spanish products during the campaign.

Notable Spanish brands Delaviuda and El Almendro, delivery app Snoonu, and The Cooking Academy, which will host a cooking contest, are also participating. "Eat Spain, Drink Spain" is organized by Foods from Spain and Alimentos de Espana, as part of the broader Spain Food Nation campaign, which will be held in 18 countries worldwide this year.
