Dodgers clinch 14th straight playoff berth behind Skubal’s 7 scoreless innings in 4-1 win over Reds

The Los Angeles Dodgers secured their 14th consecutive playoff berth with a 4-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night. The win was propelled by Tarik Skubal's seven shutout innings on the mound, while Kyle Tucker and Teoscar Hernández contributed home runs. This achievement ties the record previously set by Atlanta from 1991 to 2005.

With this win, the Dodgers cut their magic number to three for a fifth straight NL West title, marking their 13th title in 14 seasons. Skubal (10-7) struck out nine and walked one over 7 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and two runs in a game where all three of Los Angeles' hits resulted in runs. Kyle Tucker led off the second inning with a home run, and Teoscar Hernández followed with another in the fourth.

Cincinnati's Kiké Hernández added an RBI single in the seventh. The Dodgers will send right-handed pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto to take the mound on Tuesday, while Cincinnati will rely on left-handed pitcher Rhett Lowder.
