Benue Police present insurance cheques to families of deceased officers

The Benue State Police Command recently presented insurance cheques to families of deceased officers at their headquarters in Makurdi, the state capital. This act of generosity, disclosed by the police's spokesman, DSP Orchia Aondogwu, forms part of the Inspector-General of Police's ongoing initiative to support families of officers who have lost their lives while on duty.

The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Cletus C. Nwadiobu, handed over the cheques, conveying on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Tunji Disu, his deepest condolences to the bereaved families. While CP Nwadiobu acknowledged that no monetary aid can truly replace the loss of a loved one, he emphasized that the insurance payouts aim to offer some relief and support to the affected families, particularly during their time of grief.

CP Nwadiobu urged the beneficiaries to wisely utilize the funds, especially for addressing immediate needs and supporting the welfare of their families, especially the children of the deceased. He reiterated the command's unwavering commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families, promising continued support for the Inspector-General of Police's initiatives aimed at providing assistance to officers and families impacted by loss during the course of their service.
