Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Romeo + Juliet’ Live Orchestra Screenings Are Going Global: Dates Added in U.S., U.K. & Europe

Baz Luhrmann's renowned cinematic adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet will celebrate its 30th anniversary with live orchestra screenings across the globe. Beginning in January 2025, the film will be screened alongside a live orchestra in various locations including the United States, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

The live orchestra production, titled "Romeo + Juliet Film in Concert," is a collaboration between producer GEA Live, Disney Concerts, and Baz Luhrmann. It features a hybrid ensemble performing the film's score and music in sync with the original movie, presenting a unique experience that honors the legacy of the beloved Shakespearean tale while offering audiences a new reason to fall in love with the story.

Luhrmann, a twice nominated Academy Award winner, expressed his excitement about the project, stating that it brings together the enduring magic of Shakespeare and cinema in a fresh new way. The live orchestra experience is set to premiere at the Sydney Opera House in Australia on September 29 before embarking on a tour that will take it to over 40 theaters across the United States, Australia, and Europe in the months to come.
