Australia bats first against Zimbabwe in 1st ODI cricket match

On Tuesday, Australia won the toss and opted to bat first in its inaugural one-day international cricket match against Zimbabwe in 12 years. The match marks the first annual payment of $205.00 + GST for one year, with automatic renewal at $233.00 + GST every 52 weeks. Only three players from both teams have participated in the last ODI in Zimbabwe, which the host nation won in 2014. Australia's captain, Mitchell Marsh, and Zimbabwe's skipper, Sikandar Raza, are among the survivors.

The playing XI for Australia excluded Cameron Green due to shoulder discomfort, while Josh Hazlewood was absent. Australia fielded with a trio of pace bowlers: Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, and Spencer Johnson. Marsh, who is playing his 100th ODI, believed the wicket was conducive to batting in a day game. Raza, conversely, would have fielded if his team had won the toss.

The three-match series aims to prepare defending champions Australia for the World Cup next year. Regular captain Pat Cummins was rested for the Zimbabwe series, and he will join the team in South Africa for three ODIs and test matches.
