At least five killed and more than a dozen injured in Russian attacks on Ukraine

Ukraine's Third Army Corps has disclosed information about an offensive operation in northern Donetsk Oblast, revealing that its forces have cleared Russian infiltrators from several settlements and liberated the village of Serednie. Moscow has been attempting to seize the entire Donetsk Oblast as both a battlefield and diplomatic priority in its invasion of Ukraine, repeatedly trying to break through Ukrainian defensive lines and demanding Kyiv's withdrawal from the remaining Ukrainian-held territory in negotiations.

Despite years of fighting and sustained Russian assaults, Russia has failed to capture the entire oblast, and Ukraine is now conducting its own offensive. Dubbed "Vivaldi," the operation was carried out under a period of information silence and involved various units under a unified tactical command. The corps announced that the first phase cleared 75 square kilometers of Russian forces and liberated 10 square kilometers of territory.

The operation focused on Russian troops that had infiltrated Ukrainian positions and settlements, clearing settlements such as Novoselivka, Oleksandrivka, Yarova, the outskirts of Korovyi Yar, and liberating Serednie. The operation also targeted Russian logistics, with drone units cutting supply routes and attacking fuel infrastructure, forcing Russian forces to move their supply of fuel and lubricants out of Ukraine.

Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi, the corps' commander, stated that the operation is just the first phase of a larger plan, emphasizing that they call it "Vivaldi" and that it has four seasons.
