Arsenal to contact Pro Ref over Konsa penalty

Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta, expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, criticizing the judgment and the role of the video assistant referee (VAR) in the matter. The Premier League champions are understood to be seeking clarification on the reasoning behind the award of the penalty, aiming to prevent such refereeing errors from influencing match results.

Initially, referee John Brooks had signaled a spot-kick to Sunderland based on the holding offense by Konsa on Ballard, and the decision was upheld by the VAR. Following the match, Arteta lamented the situation, stating that such occurrences at the highest level of football cannot occur, as they can significantly impact the course of the season and even the championship.
