Apple’s iPhone Duo Could Become an Entire Foldable Product Line

Apple's inaugural foldable iPhone is likely merely the starting point, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The company is said to be contemplating multiple more models under the iPhone Duo moniker. Reports suggest Apple may introduce an iPhone Duo Max, iPhone Duo mini and iPhone Duo SE. The reasoning behind Apple's selection of the Duo name could be linked to the company's broader ambitions within the foldable phone sector.

The name Duo harmonizes well with Apple's existing naming conventions, unlike alternatives like "iPhone Ultra mini" or "iPhone Ultra Max." Moreover, Duo encapsulates the phone's dual-screen configuration and aligns with Apple's branding strategy, as it consists of three letters, similar to Air and Pro, allowing for a seamless product line-up.

If Gurman's projections hold true, Apple might position the existing Duo as the standard model and complement it with larger, more compact, and budget-friendly iterations. However, none of these supplementary models have received official verification from Apple, thus remaining hypothetical at present. Gurman anticipates Apple's inaugural foldable to exert a significant influence on the broader smartphone industry.

He anticipates the iPhone Duo could become the leading foldable phone by early next year, potentially resulting in severe supply constraints and soaring resale prices.
