‘American Idol’ to Move From Hollywood to Georgia for Season 25

American Idol is shifting its production base from Hollywood to Georgia for its upcoming Season 25, according to recent reports. The iconic singing competition will now be filmed in the Atlanta area, marking the first time the show will move from its historic home in Los Angeles. This decision comes as productions increasingly leave California, where rising costs make shooting less attractive.

The move to Georgia is part of a broader trend, with several other shows, like The Floor, Beat Shazam, and Name That Tune, also relocating outside the Golden State. For American Idol, the shift will change a key moment in the show's history - the Golden Ticket given to contestants during Hollywood Week. Fremantle and 19 Entertainment, which produce American Idol, have been negotiating with an Atlanta-based studio, though a deal has not yet been finalized.

Georgia has become a significant production hub in recent years, hosting major films like Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World and reality shows such as Wandavision and The 1% Club. The state's tax incentives, offering up to 30% off for productions spending $500,000 or more, played a crucial role in this decision. American Idol's Season 25 will premiere in January, with the returning judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood, along with host Ryan Seacrest.
