Al-Nassr suffer 4-0 defeat to Al-Ain in Asian Champions League opener

Al-Nassr faced a daunting 4-0 defeat against UAE-based club Al-Ain in their inaugural Asian Champions League Elite match of the 2026-2027 season. The opening round contest took place on Tuesday evening, with Al-Ain dominating proceedings from the start. The home side capitalized on an early mistake by Al-Nassr player Saad Al-Nasser, finding the net in the 25th minute through Hussein Al-Rahimi.

The Algerian striker doubled Al-Ain's lead in the 63rd minute with another clinical right-footed strike from the penalty area. Soufiane Rahimi extended Al-Ain's advantage to 3-0 in the 73rd minute, completing the scoring with a right-footed shot from the left side of the box. Georgios Giakoumakis sealed the result in the 84th minute, thwarting a counterattack with a well-placed right-footed finish from the center of the area. The comprehensive loss marked Al-Nassr's opening display in the prestigious Asian tournament.
