ADB Ghana Medicals leads engineering works, joins donor partners for $100m Otumfuo Cancer Centre

Ghanaian healthcare solutions provider ADB Ghana Medical Systems Group Limited is spearheading the engineering and infrastructure development of the $100 million Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Comprehensive Cancer Centre of Excellence in the Ashanti Region. Established in 2006 by Adann Benjamin Diaz, the company has grown from a medical equipment supply business into a specialist healthcare solutions provider.

Diaz emphasized that ADB Ghana Medical Systems aims to contribute to Ghana's healthcare infrastructure, not just through medical equipment supply. The five-year project, funded by various organizations, is being built on 52 acres of land and is expected to include state-of-the-art facilities such as a radiotherapy suite, research wing, and community outreach facilities.

The centre aims to enhance Ghana's ability to offer advanced cancer care and become a medical tourism hub. ADB Ghana Medical Systems is also involved in the development of a cardiology facility at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, addressing the need for advanced cardiac services in the region. The company's expansion into hospital engineering is aimed at building a Ghanaian healthcare brand capable of competing internationally.
