3,500 kg of mehendi in 3 hours: Lakhs of devotees at Jaipur temple that promises marriage

On September 13, the famed Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple in Jaipur saw a massive influx of devotees for the Sinjara festival. Thousands of people flocked to the temple to collect the special mehendi offered, causing authorities to start distribution earlier than planned. Meant for those facing marriage obstacles, Sinjara mehendi is believed to provide a suitable life partner within a year.

Devotees came from cities like Delhi and Chandigarh, with some arriving the night before. An Instagram post reported that 3,500 kg of mehendi was given away in just three hours. Videos showed long queues and crowds gathered outside, leading to traffic jams and disruptions in the surroundings. Pushing and jostling were reported, and a Maharashtra-based devotee reportedly fainted in the crowd.

The incident went viral on social media, sparking a range of reactions on netizens' comments. Despite the large number of singles, one user joked about the country's growing population, while another suggested focusing on personal development before seeking a partner. The Sinjara festival is observed around Ganesh Chaturthi.
