2027: Wadada picks Ombugadu as running mate for Nasarawa governorship race

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Nasarawa State governorship, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has selected Chief Michael Emmanuel Ombugadu as his running mate for the 2027 election, according to a statement released on Monday. Wadada announced the decision, stating that it aimed to bolster the party's ticket as they prepare for the upcoming election.

He highlighted Ombugadu's extensive experience, which spans over three decades in various sectors such as administration, public finance, community service, academia, and the private sector. Prior to his current role, Ombugadu had worked at Ashaka Cement Plc, served at Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic, Lafia, and later became Director of Finance and Accounts at the Nasarawa State Pension Bureau.

Wadada praised Ombugadu's career, emphasizing his traits of diligence, accountability, and commitment to public service. The APC governorship hopeful also noted Ombugadu's grassroots background, which he said has been molded by resilience, loyalty, and dedication to his constituents. Wadada appreciated Ombugadu's decision to prioritize the interests of the APC and the state above personal ambitions during recent political events, emphasizing these qualities as essential for the ticket.

The joint ticket is seen as reflecting the diverse composition of Nasarawa State, encompassing all 13 Local Government Areas, 18 Development Areas, and 147 electoral wards. Wadada reiterates his campaign slogan, "One Nasarawa. One People. One Future," and pledges to run a campaign centered on unity and development, focused on issues rather than sentiments, and prioritizing the welfare, security, prosperity, and dignity of the people of Nasarawa State.
