2027: My support is for Tinubu, rainbow coalition not APC — Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his backing for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. Wike clarified in a statement that he never promised the People Democratic Party wouldn't select candidates for the 2027 governorship, National Assembly, and State House of Assembly elections. He emphasized that the rainbow coalition is a platform for members of various political parties supporting Tinubu's re-election, based on their evaluation of his performance.

Wike stressed that politics is local and urged those in trouble to resolve their issues instead of using the President's re-election to stir sentiments. He further mentioned that his support for Tinubu in 2027 is solely for the President and that politics has shifted from coming from fourth position to become governor to mobilizing genuine support and winning elections from polling units.
