Zelensky calls for Ukraine prosecutor general’s swift removal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged lawmakers to swiftly approve the removal of the country's prosecutor general, Ruslan Kravchenko, amid growing tensions over anti-corruption investigations. Kravchenko stepped down from his position last week after a probe reached his office, though he was not charged with any crime or named as a suspect.

However, he had signed a "suspicion notice" against the head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), Semen Kryvonos, alleging that Kryvonos forged official documents to obtain an unlawful benefit and used a fictional adoption to evade legal liability. Both NABU and SAPO, another anti-graft agency involved in the investigation, rejected Kravchenko's claims and stated that Kryvonos had not been formally charged.

Zelensky emphasized that the only resolution to the situation is Kravchenko's removal from office, as reported on the Telegram app.
