Xi extends congratulations over DPRK's 78th founding anniversary

Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on the DPRK's 78th founding anniversary on Wednesday. In his message, Xi highlighted that over the past 78 years, the DPRK people have achieved significant progress in various aspects of socialist construction through self-reliance, unity, and hard work. More recently, under Kim's leadership, the DPRK and its people have made remarkable strides in economic and social development, bringing China considerable joy, Xi noted.

Xi expressed confidence that the DPRK people will achieve their goals and tasks set forth during the Ninth Congress of the Workers Party of Korea (WPK) and continue to explore new paths for the advancement of the Party and state. He emphasized the strong bonds of friendship between China and the DPRK, stating that they are friendly socialist neighbors who stand by each other and share both prosperity and adversity.

China's Communist Party and government have a steadfast policy of maintaining, strengthening, and developing China-DPRK relations, Xi said.

In June, Xi paid a state visit to the DPRK and met with Kim again, marking a new chapter in the development of relations between the two parties and countries. He stated that he remains ready to collaborate with Kim to further strengthen the strategic guidance of the relationship between the two parties and countries, jointly promote the development of their respective Party and state causes, enhance the well-being of the two peoples, and deepen their friendship.

This, in turn, would contribute significantly to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity, Xi concluded.
