Ukraine-Krieg: Trump: Moskau und Kiew wollen Angriffe auf Energie stoppen

According to U.S. President Donald Trump, both Russia and Ukraine are willing to stop targeting each other's energy infrastructure. Trump shared this information on his platform Truth Social, without providing further details. Neither Kiev nor Moscow have officially responded to Trump's statement yet. In recent months, Ukraine has carried out heavy attacks on Russia's oil industry, causing temporary fuel shortages in Russia.

In response, Moscow launched targeted strikes on Ukrainian facilities and even targeted individual gas stations. The warring parties have been attacking each other's targets in the Black Sea. Trump had called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier that day, urging him to halt attacks on Russian refineries and blaming him for causing a global diesel shortage.

"He must stop crippling Russia's diesel supply," Trump said in Doonbeg on Ireland's west coast in front of journalists. Trump did not mention that the recent energy crisis was triggered by the war against Iran and the Hormuz Strait situation. Zelensky intends to speak with Trump Trump also announced that the U.S. had already discussed attacks on the energy sector with Zelensky.

"There are plenty of other targets. He must not attack diesel facilities, as that harms the entire world," Trump said. Since Sunday, there have been no reports of new attacks on energy infrastructure by the belligerent parties. Zelensky had previously stated that he wanted to meet Trump in New York on September 20th or 21st to discuss sea fire pauses and energy infrastructure.

"We are open to a corresponding ceasefire in maritime and energy sectors," he said on Ukrainian television. He would discuss all this with the U.S. president, provided it aligned with his plans and Zelensky could manage to fly to New York.
