He added that the cease-fire on critical infrastructure could serve as the "first step toward peace" provided it is reliable, long-term, and effectively impacts people's lives. Zelensky emphasized the need for specifics from partners, hinting at expectations from the United States. Earlier, on September 13, U.S. President Donald Trump urged Ukraine to stop targeting Russian facilities that produce diesel fuel.

Trump later claimed that Russia and Ukraine had agreed not to strike each other's energy infrastructure, though no details were provided. Moscow has not commented on Trump's statement.
