Three Arrested After Police Seize 262 Cannabis Plants in San Miguel Home

Three men were arrested in San Miguel de Salinas following the seizure of 262 cannabis plants, according to the Guardia Civil. The operation, named Operation Bastión 26, targeted a large indoor cannabis plantation within a residential property. The three suspects, aged 34, 53, and 57, are currently under investigation for drug trafficking, criminal group membership, and electricity theft.

The investigation commenced after discarded cannabis plant material was discovered in the municipality. Police identified the source of the waste and determined the presence of a large-scale cannabis cultivation operation at the property. Upon searching the two-storey house, officers found that nearly every room had been converted for cannabis production, with the exception of the kitchen where one individual was reportedly sleeping.

The confiscated evidence included 12 air-conditioning units, 87 LED lights, 30 fans, seven extractor units, eight air filters, three mobile phones, and €1,000 in cash. A third suspect was apprehended in Guardamar del Segura after further investigations. All three men appeared before the duty investigating court in Torrevieja and were released on precautionary measures while the investigation continues.

The Guardia Civil stated that the operation successfully identified the source of the plant remains found in the municipality, dismantled the criminal group, and brought the cultivation operation to an end.
