‘The future is bright’ – Gyan backs Black Princesses squad after U-20 World Cup exit

Ghana's U-20 women's football team, known as the Black Princesses, faced defeat in the 2026 U-20 Women’s World Cup after losing 4-0 to France. Despite this group stage exit, Asamoah Gyan, the brand ambassador for all national teams and colts football, remains optimistic about the future of the squad. Gyan praised the Black Princesses for their performance, acknowledging that they gave a commendable account of themselves despite securing only three points from their three group games.

In a meeting with the players, Gyan encouraged them to keep their faith high and emphasized that the future holds numerous opportunities. He reassured them that the end of one day signifies the beginning of another, urging them to trust in their abilities and continue their training. Gyan firmly believes that the Black Princesses have the potential to come back stronger, even though their current journey has ended.
