Thai shuttler Sararuk wins Vietnam Open women’s singles title

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam — On Sunday, Thailand's Sarunrak Vitidsant secured the women's singles title at the Vietnam Open 2026. The event took place at Nguyen Du Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, with a total prize fund of US$120,000, equivalent to approximately Baht 3.9 million. Ranked 106th globally, Sarunrak showcased a commanding performance against India's Isharani Baruah, who was ranked 39th.

Sarunrak dominated the match with a scoreline of 21-8, 21-15, ultimately claiming the title. As the winner, she earned US$8,250, or about Baht 270,000. In the mixed doubles final, Thailand's Phuwanat Hopbanluengkit and Fungfah Korpattamakij, seeded No. 7, narrowly fell short of the championship. They lost to China's Ma Si Xiyang and Qin Hui Ji in a tightly contested three-game match, 22-20, 18-21, 19-21.

For their efforts, Phuwanat and Fungfah received US$4,180, or around Baht 130,000, as the runners-up.
