Tesla plans for a next-gen Roadster reveal on October 1

Tesla has announced plans to launch the long-awaited Roadster on October 1, nearly a decade after first revealing the concept. The electric-vehicle manufacturer posted a countdown on its website and shared the date 10.01 on the social media platform X. The Information had previously reported that Tesla intended to unveil a redesigned version of the Roadster as early as that month.

The event may feature a demonstration of a limited-edition model equipped with cold-gas thrusters, developed in partnership with SpaceX, according to the report. This launch comes after Tesla began offering rides in its two-seater Cybercab, a driverless vehicle, in limited areas of Austin, Texas, in recent weeks. The Cybercab, which lacks a steering wheel or pedals, is seen as a crucial step in transforming Tesla into a leading player in the driverless vehicle market.
