Tennis season not over after 2026 US Open, tournaments continue through November

Many people mistakenly believe that the US Open signifies the end of the tennis season. However, the US Open is actually the last Grand Slam of the year and the conclusion of North American hardcourt events. Nevertheless, the tennis calendar carries on well into November. These fall tournaments hold significance, particularly for players striving to qualify for the ATP and WTA Finals, an exclusive event featuring the top eight singles players and doubles teams.

Following the US Open, the ATP 250 events commence in China from September 23-29. This is followed by the Laver Cup in London from September 25-27, a team event where top European players compete against the World players. The Laver Cup, an annual fan favorite, began under the leadership of Roger Federer.

Subsequent to the Laver Cup, there are ATP 500 events in Beijing and Tokyo from September 29 through October 6. The ATP 1000 tournament in Shanghai takes place from October 7-18. Concurrent ATP 500 events in Vienna and Basel occur from October 26-November 1.

The Asian swing officially commences on September 21 with a WTA 500 tournament in Singapore, lasting until September 27. Back-to-back WTA 1000 events ensue in Beijing and Wuhan from September 30-October 11 and October 12-18. The Ningbo Open and Pan Pacific Open are back-to-back WTA 500 events from October 19-26 and October 26-November 1.

November begins with the last ATP 1000 tournament in Paris, running from November 2-8. The Nitto ATP Finals conclude the season in Turin, Italy, from November 15-22.
