Teacher, three others investigated over alleged kidnapping of suspected MoMo fraudster in Kumasi

A teacher and three others are currently under investigation for allegedly kidnapping Bismark Amoh, a suspected mobile money fraudster, in an attempt to reclaim the money he lost due to a fraudulent scheme. According to the victim's sister, Afia Adutwumwaa, a friend of her sister posed as someone romantically interested in Bismark, leading him to meet her in Kumasi.

Once there, the four suspects allegedly kidnapped Bismark and demanded GH¢45,000 for his release. Bismark's family partially paid this amount after seeing pictures of him tied with ropes. Bismark was released before the suspects were arrested by the police. In September, Afia's sister received a series of fraudulent calls, leading her to unknowingly provide crucial information to the fraudsters, resulting in losses totaling GH¢44,800.
