Apple has released iOS 27, a major upgrade for iPhone devices. The update brings a range of new features and improvements. One of the key highlights is the integration of advanced AI capabilities, such as photo editing and generation, and automation of tasks. Additionally, the system's security and kid-friendly features have been enhanced.

The new iOS 27 also features redesigned interfaces, improved app performance, and quicker app loading times. Photos will appear in the gallery noticeably faster, and file transfers via Airdrop will be more efficient. Updates will be available starting September 14, but advanced AI features may only be available on newer models like the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16.

Some of the new AI tools include the ability to reposition, enlarge, or remove large unwanted objects from photos, create images in different styles using Image Playground, and have notifications from messaging and mail apps suggest relevant actions like scheduling appointments or saving content. During phone calls, relevant information from other apps can be displayed, such as a booking number from an email.

Shortcuts app automation is also streamlined, allowing users to create task automation commands through a simple text description. Apple plans to add a password warning feature to iOS 27, alerting users about weak or compromised passwords and allowing for a quick change with a single touch.

Safari's functionality has been enhanced with tabs that can be organized thematically, a new "Send to me" observation feature informing users about changes on websites, and a new safe browsing feature that blocks content with explicit material. The kid-friendly safety feature has been expanded to block violent or gory images and videos, with additional control over screen time and app usage.

The system's design has been refined with improved Liquid-Glass screen surface contrast and uniform illumination, a new transparency slider to customize the appearance of the effect, and sharper, more detailed app icons. Other improvements include platform-wide shared iCloud albums, a customizable AirPods equalizer, a more reliable Wi-Fi and cellular connection, and enhanced search functionality and email app organization.
