Supreme Court announces launch of Hindi public information service ‘Jan Soochna Seva’

On Hindi Diwas, the Supreme Court announced the launch of “Jan Soochna Seva,” a new public information service in Hindi. The initiative aims to enhance inclusivity in accessing justice by providing simplified summaries of significant judgments and orders, alongside Hindi audio and video bulletins lasting around 15 to 30 minutes.

This service is designed to assist ordinary citizens, litigants, and individuals with disabilities in comprehending key judicial decisions in a language they are familiar with. The primary goal is to foster inclusivity in the dissemination of judicial information and to honor Indian languages by making legal information more accessible.

Initially, the service will be launched in Hindi, with plans to expand to other Indian languages in a phased approach. The statement emphasized that the initiative will enable citizens from various linguistic backgrounds in the country to easily access concise and comprehensible information about significant Supreme Court judgments in their native language.
