Status 55 rakyat Malaysia kekal tak dapat dihubungi

Malaysia's Department of Foreign Affairs continues to conduct search, rescue, and identification efforts for the 55 Malaysian citizens missing after the Nepal flood and landslide disaster, according to the Ministry's statement. Despite the team returning from Nepal on Monday, SMART will provide training on drone operation to Nepalese rescuers and hand over nine drones to the Nepalese government through the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).

The Malaysian team in Nepal will continue their search operations through the Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu, which will receive updates directly from NDRRMA and relevant Nepalese authorities. They will also conduct searches at hospitals and related agencies, as well as coordinate with the embassy in Beijing regarding Malaysian casualties due to the disaster in China.

The Ministry acknowledges the concern of families still searching for their loved ones and will directly inform the nearest relative before any public announcement. If there is any confirmed development regarding the status of a Malaysian citizen, the nearest relative will be informed first before any public announcement. The Ministry urges the public and media to respect the privacy of affected families and refrain from speculating about the status of any individual whose status is still pending.
