Sri Lanka–Indonesia Business Council holds 3rd Annual General Meeting

The Sri Lanka–Indonesia Business Council, under the auspices of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, convened its third Annual General Meeting (AGM). This event attracted prominent Council members and key stakeholders who gathered to assess the Council's accomplishments and outline priorities for the forthcoming year. At the helm of the proceedings was Dewi Gustina Tobing, Indonesia's Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Council's Patron.

In her address, Ambassador Tobing delivered an insightful appraisal of Indonesia's political and economic terrain. She underscored the nation's emphasis on fostering economic autonomy, bolstering sectoral resilience, elevating public welfare, and expediting both inbound and outbound investments.

Election results saw Sheamalee Wickramasingha, Chairman and Group Managing Director of Ceylon Biscuits Ltd., re-appointed as Council President for the 2026/27 term. In her acceptance, Wickramasingha commended the Ambassador's pivotal role in the Council's revival. She then reflected on the Council's noteworthy achievements over the past year, notably the successful delegation trip to Indonesia.

This visit facilitated critical engagements between Sri Lankan businesses and their Indonesian counterparts, opening doors for potential commercial collaborations.
