Siri AI Will Have Deep Integration With ChatGPT and Claude Models, Leaked Build Shows

Apple is making Siri AI a key selling point for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, according to a leaked build of the new operating system. The upgraded voice assistant will have deep integration with third-party AI models, including OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude. In a leaked video, Siri appears to pass requests to Claude to perform tasks such as creating reminders in the Reminders app.

The leaked iOS and MacOS frameworks also include a model delegation feature that allows Siri users to ask Apple's AI model to delegate tasks to another agent. If a task requires access to proprietary Apple system information, Siri handles it directly. A more robust app extension was shown that allows users to replace Apple's Siri AI model with a different LLM, such as GPT-5.6, and execute requests using Siri UI and voice.

This integration with third-party AI models is likely in response to the European Union's Digital Markets Act, which requires Apple to give third-party developers equal access to its hardware and software features. OpenAI and Anthropic are racing to develop more advanced models amid a largely unregulated environment and the promise of large IPOs for both companies.
