MELAKA - Hong Kong actor Ruco Chan found himself embroiled in an online debate after a recent restaurant experience in Melaka. The 49-year-old TVB star, along with his wife Phoebe Sin, visited the establishment to film a Chinese New Year movie. Chan and Sin arrived at the restaurant at 5:45pm, only to be informed that they had to wait outside until it opened at 6pm. When they returned at the designated time, they were met with disappointment as the restaurant was completely booked.

Chan expressed his frustration on social media, questioning the restaurant's service attitude. He posted a photo of himself outside the venue with the caption: "Haha, what kind of service attitude is this nowadays?" His post quickly gained attention, igniting a lively online discussion.

Some netizens criticized Chan, arguing that the restaurant's online listing clearly stated that reservations were mandatory. They contended that celebrities should not be granted special treatment or allowed to bypass the queue simply because of their status. One Facebook user commented, "They shouldn't get special treatment or skip the queue just because they're celebrities."

However, a significant number of others stood by Chan and Sin, asserting that the staff should have promptly informed them that walk-ins were not accepted.
