Sean McVay offers positive updates on 3 Rams injuries

The Los Angeles Rams maintained a positive outlook on Monday in the wake of their Week 1 defeat to the San Francisco 49ers. Coach Sean McVay shared updates on the condition of four crucial players - safety Kam Curl, linebackers Nate Landman and Omar Speights, and tight end Davis Allen. All were deemed to be in good spirits by McVay.

Curl, who left the game in the second half due to an ankle issue, was officially listed as questionable but McVay assured the veteran safety was fine, emphasizing the issue was merely ankle soreness. Curl's standout performance last season, where he started all 17 games and played nearly the entire game, has him valued highly. Jaylen McCollough took over for Curl, managing just two tackles before exiting himself.

Landman suffered a shoulder and thumb injury during a collision involving Christian McCaffrey late in the fourth quarter. The Rams will be cautious in their practices but expect Landman to be ready for Monday Night Football against the New York Giants on September 21. Speights exited in the first half with a hip injury, but he returned to play in the second quarter.

The most concerning case was that of tight end Davis Allen, who went down with a possible concussion in the third quarter. Initial evaluation deemed him questionable to return, but Allen returned to the field, indicating the evaluation cleared him to continue. Despite the tough loss, these positive updates provide a glimmer of hope as the Rams look to bounce back against the Giants.
