Saudi Civil Defense lifts emergency alerts in southern regions

The Saudi Civil Defense discontinued all emergency alerts on Monday following the issuance of temporary warnings for potential danger in four southern and southwestern regions and cities. The General Directorate of Civil Defense declared the threat had subsided in southern Jazan and Najran regions, Khamis Mushait governorate, and Abha city in the Asir region.

The agency stressed the importance of adhering to its instructions and guidelines to maintain public safety. The alerts were initially disseminated via the National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies in the mentioned areas due to a series of cross-border drone and missile attacks attributed to Yemen's terrorist Houthi militia.

Initially, alarms and mobile notifications were issued, urging residents to seek indoor shelter. Citizens and expatriates were advised to abide by official instructions and safety guidelines, which included staying away from open areas and glass, avoiding balconies and rooftops, and proceeding to the nearest safe building or seeking shelter behind solid cover if outdoors.

The Civil Defense further emphasized the need to avoid gatherings, taking photographs, and staying away from dangerous locations, while also advising against sharing rumors or videos from unverified sources and instructed the public to obtain information exclusively from official channels.
