Saudi Arabia updates Najran alert, urges residents to stay cautious

Saudi Arabia’s National Early Warning Platform has lifted an emergency alert in Najran Province, following a preceding warning issued for the area. Authorities have advised residents to continue adhering to Civil Defense guidelines, refrain from large gatherings, and avoid filming during the incident. People are still encouraged to monitor official communication channels for further updates.

In case of an emergency, residents in Najran and other parts of Saudi Arabia can dial 998. In contrast, 911 is utilized in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province for emergencies. During the warning, authorities instructed residents to remain composed and follow instructions provided via official channels.

The recommendations included: swiftly moving to the nearest secure location, such as an interior room away from windows, staying indoors and not exiting homes or buildings until the threat subsided, avoiding open spaces, windows, and glass, and refraining from using balconies or rooftops. If outdoors, residents were advised to enter the nearest building or seek shelter behind a solid barrier.

Individuals were cautioned against gathering in crowds or dangerous areas and were prohibited from taking pictures or filming during the emergency. Motorists were instructed to pull over safely on the side of the road, away from bridges and tall structures, if they encountered a warning while driving. Although the danger has ceased in Najran Province, residents have been advised to stay vigilant and continue following Saudi Civil Defense instructions through official channels.
