Drone strikes hit a critical Ukraine-Poland supply route, igniting border fires and sparking concerns over the escalating conflict. Near the Yahodyn border crossing in western Ukraine, falling debris from the drones ignited a petrol station and several trucks, according to Valentyna Chernysh, a spokesperson for the Volyn Customs Service.

The checkpoint itself remained unharmed, and no injuries were reported, though border operations were temporarily suspended as staff and travelers sought shelter. The incident occurred as Russian drones targeted various regions in western Ukraine, sparing the eastern front from the heaviest battles. The strikes also damaged a Kyiv-Warsaw passenger train near the border, with passengers and crew evacuated after receiving an advance warning.

The Yahodyn-Dorohusk crossing, a vital road route for military and humanitarian supplies, bears the brunt of the conflict. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha labeled the attacks as "Putin's terror 'knocking' directly on the doors of the EU and NATO," urging European nations to tighten sanctions against Moscow. Polish authorities confirmed that the strike site was approximately 800 meters from the Polish border, ensuring that no injuries were reported on the Polish side. Both Ukrainian and Polish authorities are still evaluating the full impact of the attacks.
