Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ In Indore: Congress Claims Oral Nod, Steps Up Student Outreach

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Congress party in Indore claims to have received an oral nod from the Indore Development Authority (IDA) for the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' program, set to take place on September 19. However, formal approval is still pending. Party state president Jitu Patwari announced that if the permission is denied, the party would hold the event on the road instead.

Patwari emphasized that the program is non-political and focuses on education-related issues. The Congress has already deposited Rs 10.08 lakh as a deposit for a three-day lease of about 12,000 square meters of land opposite Regional Park. The party is ready to pay up to Rs 10 crore if necessary to ensure the event goes ahead. This comes after the party had initially sought permission for an event at Nehru Stadium, which was denied by the administration. Congress then shifted the event to September 19 due to the earlier denial.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'Goonj' campaign is gaining momentum, with Rahul's visit expected to be a powerful platform for students and young voters to voice their concerns, particularly regarding examination-related issues and constitutional rights. The campaign has been intensified in the lead-up to the event, with Congress leaders and volunteers actively engaging with students in various parts of the city.

The campaign also highlighted the city's ongoing waterlogging problem, drawing attention to this issue as part of the larger political agenda. Among those involved in the Musakhedi outreach campaign were former MLA Satyanarayan Patel, Youth Congress state president Yash Ghanghoria, general secretary Chetan Chaudhary, and numerous other party members, all urging the youth to unite and make their voices heard.
