Rabih Alameddine on Writing Humor In Times of Tumult and Tragedy

Renowned author Rabih Alameddine shared insights into crafting humor amidst turmoil during a discussion at The Center for Fiction. His latest novel, The True True Story of Raja the Gullible (and His Mother), delves into the deep connection between a mother and son across generations, set against the backdrop of Lebanon. The story is narrated by Raja, a philosophy teacher and community homosexual who embarks on a writing residency in America to distance himself from personal and national upheaval.
