Polish National Has Inside Track to Make Knicks Roster, and Other Potential Training Camp Invitees

The New York Knicks have secured the services of former Tennessee forward Igor Milicic Jr. through an Exhibit 10 deal, as reported by Polish outlet Interia Sport. Milicic, who was born in Croatia, went undrafted out of Tennessee in 2025 but signed with the Philadelphia 76ers shortly after the draft. However, the 76ers released him before training camp began.

Undeterred, Milicic joined the Delaware Blue Coats, the 76ers' G-League affiliate, and earned an $85,000 bonus for remaining with the team throughout the season. He averaged 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 46 games, topping 20 points twice and recording four double-doubles.

Since the 2025-26 season ended, Milicic has been involved with the San Antonio Spurs' summer league squad and the Polish national team. He played in seven games for the Spurs, averaging around 15 minutes, but struggled with his shooting. In Poland, Milicic's father, also named Igor, coached the national team. Milicic compiled 31 points (11-of-16 shooting overall), 11 rebounds, six assists, four steals, and three blocks in two appearances.

Milicic is the first player to agree to a training camp deal with the Knicks this summer. The team has 13 players on standard contracts and needs to reach the 14 minimum before signing players to these deals, as well as filling all three two-way spots. The Knicks are expected to sign at least seven more players before training camp begins on October 1. They have shown interest in free agents John Konchar and Drew Eubanks, as well as Knicks draft pick Tyler Nickel.
