Policing authorities in Kuala Lumpur launched a bomb disposal unit to neutralize a suspicious package with high radiation levels found outside a grocery store. The incident occurred near the store premises around 12:57 in the afternoon, after a woman reported discovering the package. Police Chief Fadil Marsus stated that the woman called the police regarding the suspicious package, while an initial investigation determined its presence of radioactive material based on elevated radiation readings.

The Joint Bomb Disposal Unit of IPK Kuala Lumpur, the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Disposal unit at Bukit Aman, and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency were present on-site to conduct further inspection and assessment. The Bomb Disposal Unit then employed a Recoilless Disruptor 5.0 to destroy the incendiary object. Subsequent actions revealed that several incendiary packages contained brightly colored Lego bricks, which were successfully neutralized.

Further examination by the Atomic Energy Department confirmed the absence of any radioactive readings at the incident location, according to a statement. The police opened a case under Section 506 of the Criminal Code. Earlier, Oriental Daily reported that a store employee found the package at the corner of the store, with the word "bomb" written on it.
