Police orders probe Into death of officer Ejeh John in its custody

The Taraba State Police Command has pledged to conduct a transparent investigation into the death of officer Ejeh John, who allegedly sustained injuries during an arrest and subsequently passed away while receiving medical care. In a statement on Sunday, the Public Relations Officer, ASP Victor Mshelizah, confirmed that the suspect involved in the incident had been apprehended and is currently held in police custody.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the officer's death is ongoing, and the Command emphasized that the matter would be handled with the utmost seriousness and adherence to the law. Commissioner Edwin Obegheghagha directed the investigation to be carried out professionally, objectively, and transparently, ensuring that due process is followed.

The Command assured that the officer's death would not be ignored and that anyone found culpable would face the full consequences of the law. They also expressed their commitment to supporting the officer's family, adhering to Nigeria Police Force policies, and appealing to the public to exercise patience while the investigation progresses.
